How to Fix Outlook Asking to Save a Message When You Try to Add a Category?

When you try to add a category to a message in Outlook, you may be prompted to save the message. This can be annoying, especially if you are trying to add a category to a large number of messages. There are a few things you can do to fix this problem.

  • Make sure that you are using the latest version of Outlook. Microsoft regularly releases updates for Outlook that fix bugs and improve performance. If you are not using the latest version, you may be experiencing this problem because of a bug that has been fixed in a newer version.
  • Try restarting Outlook. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix problems with Outlook.
  • Try repairing Outlook. If restarting Outlook does not fix the problem, you can try repairing Outlook. To do this, go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings. Select your account and click Repair.
  • Try creating a new Outlook profile. If repairing Outlook does not fix the problem, you can try creating a new Outlook profile. To do this, go to File > Account Settings > Manage Profiles. Click Add and follow the instructions.

Additional solutions:

  • Check the IMAP settings for your account. Make sure that the Save Changes to Server option is enabled.
  • Try using a different IMAP server. If you are using a third-party IMAP server, try using a different one.
  • Contact your email provider for help. They may be able to provide you with additional information or assistance.

If you have tried all of the above and you are still experiencing the problem, you may need to contact Microsoft support for help.
